MVL is strong in academics, and the students there are respectful and accepting of their peers. The best teachers and coaches are good at their jobs and genuinely care about their students. However, the worst teachers and coaches are some of the most inept educators I have ever encountered. They can be incredibly inappropriate with students, vindictive, and nepotistic. Additionally, the administration is incredibly overbearing, and care more about the school’s image and test scores than the learning of their students. They have extreme tendencies that border on dictatorial, and are unstable and inconsistent with their punishments. The school sports are also inconsistent in their quality. The best sports are strong teams with talented athletes, while the worst teams are terribly coached. Overall, MVL is a school with great potential marked by strong academics, athletics and good kids, but is held back by the faculty that represent everything that gives Christian schools a bad name.

All of the teachers are kind and understanding. We are like a family. It is a wonderful place. We get quality education and we are valued by all faculty and staff. It is a very safe and friendly environment.

MVL prepared me with intensive courses, but it fell short in exposing me to learning diverse topics regarding culture, religion, gender, and more. I hope that the school implements a larger range when teaching about diversity.

The best parts of Minnesota Valley Lutheran is the culture and safety. I have never felt safer than at MVL. At MVL all of the lockers are left open, and no one is worried about anything being stolen. You never have to worry about your safety or the safety of your personal items. The culture is also great. The schools is like a giant family. The faculty knows almost everyone by name and they almost never forget. The teachers are always willing to answer question and will spend extra time after school to help you. There is only one part that is not so good. The food is definitely on the lower end of quality for some meals, but some of the meals are absolutely amazing.

The school itself is wonderful and provides a great, Christian-centered education. The academics are amazing, and I have made a few really close friends there. However, like any high school, there’s bound to be bad seeds. Some people in my class have been bullied. It’s never physical, but it’s enough that it makes me want to avoid the people in my class. They don’t always get in trouble, either, because they do it in ways that may seem harmless if you aren’t fully listening to their conversation or watching them.
Besides this, I honestly think this school is wonderful. The connections you make through sports, drama club, or any other activity you may decide to join will last a lifetime. The teachers are amazing and love the students so much. When you have people like these, it’s easier to get through the hard times that often come with high school! I believe this school really can make their students into better people, whether academically or in some other way.

From Junior to Senior, the time goes by so fast that you don't even think of it that much. The time spent at MVL brings a solitude of Friendship, companionship, and being in the love of Christ as brothers and sisters in Christ. The teachers are caring and diligent in their careers that they have gone to teach others about. The most important event that I would point out that happens at our school is the chapel and the showing of love to Christ in our school.

I really value the Christian education that I've received here, this shows up not only in the religion classes but also in the way the teachers act towards the students. We receive individual help and understanding with our troubles, they are always willing to listen and are generally really lenient with deadlines when something comes up. The thing that I would improve would be a shift in emphasis when it comes to what we actually learn in science and social studies. Right now, there is a lot of stress that's put upon memorization rather than gaining knowledge, when a student doesn't understand something we are often told to review material and memorize what we don't know. If there was a change towards explanation in concepts, a lot of students would benefit greatly.

MVL is a great school that provides a wonderful Christian education. From that, there are not many class choices and sports and not really as large a thing as many would like. Academics are high and teachers really push the students. The teachers can be very biased towards students who have an 'MVL' name meaning parents or relatives who have gone there before.

Minnesota Valley Lutheran High is, in my opinion, one of the best high schools (although I guess I've never gone to another high school, so I'm a bit biased). Its education is strongly centered on Christ, and that has always been important to me. Everyone I have met at MVL has been kind, and I have found wonderful friends through this school. Even though it has its flaws as every high school does, I have grown to love this school through my almost-four years there.

MVL's goal is to prepare students for Christian life in the world and for eternity. This mission is accomplished through quality education from teachers who care about students and the subject matter, four years of religion classes, and a plethora of extracurriculars. While the course catalog is by no means huge, students with a special academic interest can utilize Minnesota's PSEO program to take college courses from local institutions. The arts are strong with a curricular choir, show choir, and theater productions. Sports are a highlight for many students with school and co-op teams that have seen success. Competitive academic teams have been quite successful with two recent state championships. Lockers are left open and trust abounds among the student population. There aren't many hot lunch options, but the food is good.

Minnesota Valley Lutheran really knows how to push you beyond your limits and help you think outside the box. It has challenged me but has still given me the opportunity to experience face to face help and fun activities. The programs are fantastic yet always flexible and open to new ideas. I'd say the only thing this highschool has to change is their recruitment. There are multiple new ways to catch the eyes of younger generations and they just need to dig into that so others can receive the great experience I had attending the school.

I believe that Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School provided me with a superior education. I feel like I was more than adequately prepared for my freshman year of college due to the fact that I had learned valuable learning and studying skills while in high school. The one constructive comment I have to make about Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School is that there is a lack of diversity within the school.

The memories I made at Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School (MVL) were some of the most rewarding and impactful I've had. MVL is a very inclusive school that welcomes people of all backgrounds while providing a Lutheran education. Visitors, study abroad students or foreign exchange students often come and thanks to the students make them feel right at home enjoying all that MVL has to offer. Concerts, Musicals, Veteran's day programs, booster club events and sports are all great events for anyone to go to and enjoy MVL. I myself was in three sports, National Honor Society, Student Council, and was very involved in community volunteering opportunities thanks to MVL. MVL also helps you balance all academic subjects, extracurriculars, and events while also teaching you about responsibility to preparing you for college. I have created connections that will last me a lifetime. I happily and continually look forward to seeing their constant drive for improvement flourish in years to come.

In my experience, I have had a good understanding in all aspects of school under a religious teaching, it is a safe environment to make plenty of friends, and the sports are the best for it puts real meaning into team. I dont have all to much to complain about, but if I would change something, it would be more permanent teachers, we've had quite a few come and go in my years at MVL, but that does not change my life for that great school.

I like how much the teachers care about you and how kind the other students are. I appreciate the small size of the school because everyone knows each other and I feel like I can talk to anybody. Its location is great because it is extremely safe. The towns nearby rarely have any safety issues. This school is unique because of how far people will travel from to come here. Some students drive an hour to get to this school even though there are schools less than ten minutes away from where they live. That shows how highly thought of this school is. It is truly something special. I will definitely recommend going here.

Teachers care about their students and want them to be as prepared for graduating as possible. Because of the small class sizes, students can receive one on one attention. I loved the opportunity to get involved in different clubs and activities too!
